Atomic
Got the brake caliper ready: Tidied up some brakelines.. The enginebay is still a mess since I haven't decided how to route some of the cables yet: I need to make some supports for the brakelines at the ends still, but both front lines are hooked up: Decided to cut up the old welds that I did back in the 2012 and started making the rear wheel arch: Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Did a quick check with wheel clearance and everything seems to be fine: Got almost all of the pieces welded in, i was able to tuck the fender lip nicely inwards also: 1 Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Got a package: A new turbo blanket, can withstand up to 1100 C. Also, note to self, never touch the turbo blanket with bare hands, got a bunch of small needle like stuff in my hands and they hurt ? Manifold wrap (15m) + stainless steel zipties : And more stainless steel V-flanges: And started welding the other side: Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Got both sides ready: 1 Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Took around 30 hours to do all the welds for both sides all in all~ 1 Quote Link to comment

Atomic
I'm guessing I will also go with quad tail lights that I just bought from auction: Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Cleaned up the garage from all the scrap pieces laying on the floor and vacuumed all the metal and dust: Also welded the last major remaining spot on the car: And painted the other rear brake caliper: Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Does anyone have an idea where to get in tank fuel pump modules without the fuel pump? I would want to retrofit one to my old tank, with a reasonable price around 100-200 USD Edited January 2, 2019 by Atomic Quote Link to comment
dukerollo
I’m interested to see how you do the taillights. I have some ideas kicking around, but I’m not sure they would be worth the effort. Quote Link to comment

So we'll have to see how it goes once they arrive ? Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Inserted fuel pressure regulator to the fire plate with aluminium rivets: Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Bought rear shocks for the datsun, they're double adjustable and originally for ford mustang: Also bought a retrofit kit for the fuel tank with E85 capability: Also also, sent the chopped rear springs for a local shop so that they will make a modified ones that are around 3kg/mm in stiffness. I have 4kg/mm on the front currently with coil overs. Lot of $$$$ burned, rip me.. 1 Quote Link to comment

Mattndew76
It Adds up without us being fully aware until the "List" I haven't stopped to add up what I have spent, and almost don't want to quantify it because the wife might give me grief about it. Might or might not she is usually reasonable about my auto spending. Car is looking better by the day btw. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Same here making an R1 intake. More was spent finding what wouldn't work. 2 Quote Link to comment

Atomic
Finally got the 3/8 NPT tap and was able to get the temp sensor to the cylinder head: I had some issues with the front fenders and I thought I did a poor job on them so I ended up cutting a piece from it and streighten them both sides: Took some photos around the car with doors on: I hope that my new rear springs and shocks will arrive 'soon' 1 Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Oh well, Jegs informed that the ETA for shipping is in March... Have to wait for the shocks and the retrofit kit.. But I'm ordering a new bottle of argon again. Refilling in Finland costs 111 EUR, buying one new from europe with shipping inc. around 109 EUR... and it will even ship faster. Update: Hmm, Jegs updated that the parts will ship in 24 hours now.. What?! Quite a difference in few hours, just after i had originally posted this, they tried to sell me another one for extra +200 USD model, but I refused. Seems odd.. Atomic
Got a new plate to stance some numbers: Welded some M10 nuts into some stuck and broken bolts. Now I should be able to mount the fuel tank to the rear atleast. I have been keeping my eye on a fuel tank kit that suits E85, will need to get more money before I can buy more stuff Tapped the fuel rail for 3/8 NPT, will buy a 3/8 NPT to 8 AN fitting, and then shrink it down to 6 AN and have routing to fuel pressure regulator and to the fuel tank And then mocked up the front fenders again: Then started dealing with the chrome bumper, I drew some new markings for the new mounting holes inside of the engine bay: Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Should be able to get the welding gas next week. The shipment from Jegs ETA is 28.1 and should probably get the new rear springs soon too. When I get the welding gas the starting of the engine starts to creep closer and closer. Also toying around with an idea of having the car color with pearl blue: Edited January 22, 2019 by Atomic Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
I like these lights a lot more than I thought I would... What about a clear piece of plastic to cover the hole with those mounted on the inside? Quote Link to comment

Depends, not sure if they will qualify the lights if they're behind the original frames (regarding legal matters, registration etc). I kind of like how they look inside of the original holes too. Atomic
Got more argon \o/ Bought 10l bottle as mentioned. Got 220 bars of pressure, should give me enough gas to weld the plenum and rest of the exhaust system. Quote Link to comment
Atomic
Started welding some aluminium piping for the plenum. Took some time again to get used to aluminium welding the 45 degree pipes were salvaged from previous manifold trial Quote Link to comment
