Sorry for the long delay no progress as of yet had a ton of medical issues, but as soon as my tax return hits it is on again. I really need to find someone that can fix my rubber between the two windows and then I want to get the interior right.

Oh that sucks man hope all is well.  I posted a few ago about a 810 sedan in Nevada but it was a just a shell no doors, hood, trunk just the engine and drivetrain.  If all plans go well for me I will have a 810 by the end of the month as long as I can sell my Z way before that time.

Well thanks to Datsun Mechanic I may have found a place for my window rubbers, and the silver is in the shop getting tweaked and tuned to be purring like a kitten and then I plan to redo the entire interior. Finally seeing some movement it is nice. My next idea is to get that rear disc brake swap or the body ready for paint not sure yet. I also found a windshield and will be getting it in the next week or so from Jersey.

Ive been reading this thread for like 2 hours lol, theres plenty of fantastic information!

Z-train im curious if you have a set of headlight buckets and a set of a pillar plastics?

sorry to thread jack but it seemed like a very laid back thread!

Awesome that there are 810 guys out there, i just purchased a 77 810 wagon with 38k origional miles with minimal minimal rust.

also cleaned the engine bay last night and now it sputters at 2500 rpm and wont go higher, im thinking its a vaccume leak?

Would love to see pictures of the 810, wondering how did you clean it? You didn't just wash it down with water right? If so you probably got the dizzy (distributor) wet not a good thing. Let it dry overnight and hope nothing got damaged. If this was a problem prior to the wash then check your AFM you can open them up and clean the inside.

yeah, i guess i have to learn the old school methods of things.  i purple powered it and sprayed it all down like i do with my 240sx and all...  i hope i didnt set myself back too far.   but right after i changed the plugs, air filter, cap and rotor.  so i think i covered that basis.   its been drying fora day now.  but it has been raining so it may still be damp.  im gonna really get under the hood tomorrow.  see what i cant fix and replace.

so how about those headlight buckets that were on your parts car?  if you even still have the thing, lol

ill def post pics son, make a build thread as well

I have a set of buckets to spare. pm me if you are still in need. Ztrain may have a million sets though.

Vacuum leak will usually result in engine loping, so it's probably not vacuum. I'd check everything, but start with the throttle valve switch/connection. It kind of sounds like the ECU isn't providing you with any open throttle enrichment. A lot of those plugs & connectors are brittle after 30+ years & engine bay heat, so just check to make sure they're all soundly connected first.

no, this guy traded it in at a dealership my buddy works at down here in Louisiana.  i paid 1600 for it out the door, tax title and license.  its got minor minor rust and only has 38k on the clock and thats because ive been put putting it around town since i got it, 400 miles on it already haha.  cranks right up.  the back seats dont even look used.  it was in a minor accident looking at the front end, but nothing serious.  Im gonna start a build thread here shortly, because i have a ton of questions and i know hardly anythng about these old datsuns and a lot of information seems different over the forums...

xlr8r ill be in touch for sure!

thanks for all the help and quick responses thus far too fellas, its much appreciated
