The heads are the same combustion chamber size. I've cc'd two Z20E two Z22(S) and two (at least) Z24 heads and all same size. I suspect the Z20S head from the 720 is smaller but haven't seen one up here.

If you have a Z22 intake I would run it with the Z22 head if at all possible. Not sure if the Z24 carb will fit it though so check this.

Yeah... the carb bases are different....thus.... if one was running a Weber, you would need the 1 piece carb adapter for the Z24 and the 2 piece for the Z22.

That's exactly what I'm referring to. The bottom head in the picture has to be from a '83-'86 Mileage Option Z20S (carb) truck. I have a picture of one but never seen one. I worked out the combustion chamber size by knowing it was a 2 liter motor with flattop pistons and a compression of 9 to 1. There's no way a Z22/Z24 head would produce this so, there had to be a smaller head out there.... and there was!!! I figure the Z20S, but only the mileage Option Z20S head, had a combustion chamber of about 45cc.

You used this with a Z22????? this smaller Z20 head will give 9.8 when used on a Z22. On a Z24 you'd get 9.49.
