dim light question!

Why would my tail and blinker lights be way dimmer than my right side?

Also when my lights are on my left blinker light stays on, not blinking.

Bad ground to the left side. It's grounding through the other filiment in the bulb instead of to the chassis.

The ground is likely broken off. 521 taillight housings are plastic. So there will be a ground wire in the harness to the taiilight cluster. Per the wiring diagram, it attaches directly to the body somewhere back under the bed. The wire is either broken off or the end has rusted so that it isn't making a connection anymore. It's the only black wire (or 2, the diagram shows 2 grounds each side) to the taillights. The wire could also be broken off at the bulb socket too.

The bed isn't a good ground. One, there are rubber insulators between it and the frame. Second, you can bet all the bolts are rusty. Nice good solid grounds are a must, and Datsuns, having been derived from British cars of the past, don't have them. I've added grounds to a few of mine, particularly a frame ground in trucks (usually the battery is grounded to the inner fender and the engine block, and that's it)

Dam my right back blinker wont work and its not the bulb :-/ the fronts do and so does the right rear work hazzards do too exept for that right back corner brake lights work too. No loose or riped cables.

After 41 years of exposure to heat, cold, rain, some snow, road dirt and possibly radiation, some grounds went bad?
