KoHeartsGPA
I was pondering the idea of getting an airbrush artist to make a dedication to our wounded soldiers on that valve cover ;) 1 Quote Link to comment

Maybe under the bed opposite side of the fuel tank with a kill switch for easy service Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
Do you have the bed wheelhump cover thingy? Cali trucks I think. That would be a nice spot for a battery! Under it of course. Or yeah opposite side of the tank probably better idea. Haha Quote Link to comment
HOGIE
No wheel hump. That was for a evap tank I think. I was hoping to get my swap underway and completed by this summer but seem a bit unlikely. In the mean time I'm going to do things like relocate battery, upgrade breaks... 1 Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
Spent a little time on the DE today. Made sure the oil pump worked good, made a little tool to spin the pump, not on the block. Worked well. On to wiring now. Should be hard at all with the blackmarkit fuse block I have something like 8 wires and plug it in.. Should be getting wires/plugs, coil, water pump and a few other things tomorrow. And within the next few weeks hope to test run the DE before I drop it in.. We'll see tho. I still don't have welding skills but I'm working on it.. It's hard to see hahaha 2 Quote Link to comment

uberkevin
They sent me the wrong valve cover gaskets, So I'll have to stop by the store. New coil installed, cleaning alt, have the bolt for water pump don't worry, I was only cleaning it. Valve cover won't stay black. New spark plugs gaped and in. I also have the harness ready. Cleaned that up some too. Gotta figure out a few things. Either egr delete or fix the metal tube that comes from the egr to the exhaust manifold.. and I also need to figure out how I'll deal with the vacuum lines that need vacuum from the canister that I don't have.. I do have this to help.. also have the whole FSM. 2 Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
I vote delete All or just egr? Been going back and forth between doing them both and not. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Delete EVAP and EGR. It's not like you have a Check Engine light shining at you; and neither, when properly deleted, will cause any performance issues. Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
If I delete it all I have to take the intake off, just way easier that way. I was trying not to do that.. This is the best page I've found to follow. http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/intake-manifold-mysteries-revealed-diy-ka24de-emissions-removal-and-assembly.html It helps but leaves me asking a few questions. It does give me the opportunity to clean the intake. Maybe. Quote Link to comment

uberkevin
Idk how good that would look.. Photoshop, I don't have. I found out that the two DEs I have are s13 and s14.. this black valve cover 's14' will not work for my s13 DE. Whatever. This valve cove only has two bolt holes near the spark plug holes, the valve cover that Jrock has, has the three holes that I need... so whatever that means. Haha anywho this gives me time to get a stand thingy to test the DE on and get a new throwout bearing and a few other things. Clean up the intake. I guess emissions delete, egr block off plate.. fuck and paint the block now that I'll be taking off the intake.. lame.. it's all going to get dirty anyways. Hahaha Quote Link to comment
datson4life
The egr pipe that goes to exhaust might not fit anyway. Toss it, as well as all the small metal vacuum tubes on intake. Will leave just a few open to plug up, just need one vacuum to fuel pressure regulator 2 Quote Link to comment
uberkevin
Throwout bearing, egr delete plate are on the way. 1 Quote Link to comment

uberkevin
Cleaning up the intake. Need to rinse off the degreaser and tape it up so I can paint it.. Paint.. clear coat.. idk.. I do like the black. Haha If this was purple and the valve cover purple I feel it would be to much.. Probably just clear it. 1 Quote Link to comment
