buster69
My starter crapped out on me last night and I cant start the car anymore. It just makes click click noise. I tried ponding it with a hammer and it still wont start. I'm looking for a starter assembly in good condition that I can just bolt on and try out. Please PM me. I have paypal. Also if you can expedite shipping I will pay for that. I'm in San Diego, CA Link to comment

banzai510(hainz)
put the key to on and ck the voltage drop(you have a volt meter right?) between the battery post its self then to the battery cable. if theres about a 2volt difference then the cable is bad or needs cleaning. buster69
I will make the checks hainz. But when I was driving home I kept hearing like some rattle noise like grinding. But the car still drove fine. But when I got home I could smell some light electrical burn scent. And then I tried to restart it and got no response. I think something got stuck in the solenoid or something. now it's completely FuBaR Link to comment

Eagle_Adam
L16 through l20 use the same starter, correct? thats what ive been told, parts stores around here always ask auto or manual but i don't think there is difference there either Link to comment
datsunaholic
There isn't a difference. There might have been minor differences but the part numbers for most remans are the same for all '68-80 L-series 4-cyls, and a lot of the 6-cyls too. Link to comment
