skyblue
Cut a 1/4 coil from the rear this weekend. Gave me about a 3/4 in. Drop Before After Put the DR's back in rear to Check clearance. But, they rub even more now. Driver side rubs more on "bump" Passenger side It was pretty bad so I put the snowflakes back on till I cut and weld the "bump" Looks pretty good. But, Still a little rake left so I might cut another 1/4 coil. 2 Quote Link to comment

skyblue
i may try to make my own coil overs from the how to someone did on here using camaro shocks. Quote Link to comment
jrock4224
how much clearance u need to avoid the bump .. maybe i will machine the wheel mounting surface a little to gain some clearance ... i never seen a bump mod i liked till joels but thats alot of work ... Quote Link to comment
skyblue
It's hard to say really. Also, the driver side rubs way more than the passenger. 1 Quote Link to comment
INDY510
I was able to run those wheels at any height, with a heavily hammered bump .. it didn't look pretty when you opened the door, but it got enough clearance. Cutting and welding might allow you to run a bigger tire. This was the lowest I could drive, and it felt horrible (bottoming out shocks and bad camber/traction): 3 Quote Link to comment
INDY510
Here's what the hammered bump looked like: there's 3 pieces of metal.. the 90* angle is the door jam, and then there's a thinner piece of the wheel-tub covering that: 2 Quote Link to comment

skyblue
Photo dump. Demo243 came by with one of his Rotas 15x7 +25 with 205/50 on it to see how it would fit. They fit great. And look bad ass. And mine on the rear. Still waiting on lugnuts and one more wheel. Lugnuts should be here tomorrow and the last wheel should be here next Monday from Ohio. :-/ 2 Quote Link to comment
shacks510
What do the wheels alone weigh? Quote Link to comment
skyblue
21.7 lbs Quote Link to comment
skyblue
lug nuts came In today! So I Mounted and balanced the other 2. And put on 2 up front. Mostly to see if they would give me any vibration at freeway speed. Cause even though they balanced I noticed they were a little wobbly on the balancer. Happy to report that there was no vibrating at freeway speed! Now just still need to cut the rear bump and wait for the last wheel to arrive. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
What do the wheels alone weigh? 21.7 lbs They also make a "Lightweight" version of this wheel. Barrel is thinner, so it won't take it hit, but weight is comparable to an aluminum wheel. I have the 14x7 Lightweights and they are just over 13 pounds. 1 Quote Link to comment
skyblue
Yea these are DOT approved. I wanted the option of running them on the street. The lightweight 15x7's weigh 16lbs. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Yea these are DOT approved. Yeah, forgot to mention that bit. The Lightweights are not DOT-legal. 1 Quote Link to comment
mrbigtanker
And if there not DOT you won't run them on the street.who gives a shit enjoy them. 2 Quote Link to comment
skyblue
And if there not DOT you won't run them on the street.who gives a shit enjoy them. correct. its not an issue of giving a shit. but, the streets are mean around here. and even though the wheels are fairly inexpensive i don't want to be replacing one every time I hit a pothole or uneven asphalt and denting the shit out of them. DOT versions are thicker and can take a little more abuse than the race only versions that's why they are heavier. Its a function reason. If I had tanker money i would not have this concern. 1 Quote Link to comment
