Datsun 510 w/ SR20DET Radiators?

Hey so I've been hearing mixed reviews about people being able to use a civic radiator on there cars. It appears that a few 240's with SR swaps can run civic radiators, I understand that running a small radiator and such can introduce cooling issues but it seems that is a endless debate since a bunch of high horse power drift cars are running such a small radiator.

 

Reason I ask is because it's small, keeps the engine bay clean, and very very very affordable. (I can get a aluminum one for 70$ bucks with electric fans)

 

Has anyone been able to fit a civic radiator in there '73 510?

Haha there front ends are much longer then ours, I think it would fit though, I just don't want to buy it and then have it stuck around my house. If it doesn't fit.

The guy I got my old SR setup from had a civic radiator. I never got to use the setup, but he said the only time he started heating up was the hot part of the summer in Alabama and sitting in traffic. Other than that he said he had no problems.

great as long as it works, i'm sure theres something i can do about the temp, maybe a more powerful waterpump, water wetter, etc.

Did the guy wih a civic rad have a stock unit or one with a bigger core (2row)?

The one I got from the guy was an aftermarket one, definitely upgraded, but I can't remember what kind and I tossed it a few years a go for having a few holes.
