really_drunk
So I'm getting ready to refill the rear end and transmission oil since my truck has been sitting for 15+ years.. My question is I can see the drain plug but can't see where I fill it back up.. Is it the bolt on the top left of the pic on the top of rear end? Quote Link to comment
really_drunk
Think I got it... The drain is in the bottom.. The plug in the pic is the fill... Do I need a rubber washer or have to put thread sealer when I replace?? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I would just put a small amount of anti-sieze on the threads. Nissan puts them on dry as they are pipe threads which seal good enough by themselves. Take a good look at the drain bung it has a magnet and collects iron fileings. A black paste is normal. Be sure to wipe it off clean so at the next change you can compare. Use 80 w 90 GL5 oil. 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
It's designed to that the end of a 1/2" ratchet or Johnson bar. Quote Link to comment
