My 710 gives me about 23 MPG. The car needs a cylinder head /valve job. With that taken care of, I think it would go up to 35.

It runs fine, but the iddle is a little lumpy. My vacuum gage's ( I have a Vac gauge connected all the time, the best way to maximize MPG ) needle is jumpy, that is indication of valve/spring trouble. That will hinder efficiency.

I will take care of it later on, after his brother, the 610 comes out from the stable.

That said, I think it can give me more miles per gallon. Everytime I fill up the tank it fills up with about 10 gallons. My book shows in the capacities chart that the gas tank has a capacity of 13.25 gallons.

Perhaps the only way to figure the actual mileage with the current engine condition is to drive untill it stops ( having a gallon of gas in a gas can in the trunk as insurance, as soon as the needles shows real low, I should fill the can and wait.) and then fill it up immedialtely ( taking the added gallon into account.) That will tell me the real mileage, plus the usable gas capacity , because I am sure there is a small portion that could not be used/sucked into the carburetor.

I have only one photo online. You can see it at my website http://koti.aina.net/~datsun

If you want, I can take more photos and upload them on my site.

This is going off topic now. Is there any 710 thread where we can continue?

76 Datsun B210 - I'm getting 28 MPG in town and 33 MPG on the Interstate. My Datsun sat for 5 years in my driveway. I just passed Cali smog and have been driving my 210 everyday. It's like I'm breaking it in, my Datsun keeps running better everyday.

32/36 Weber now , 2" pipe with a 60 series flowmaster , made a 800 mile trip to MO to the Red Power Roundup. If I kept the waggin under 70 it would get 30mpg , 75-85mph it would drop to 26mpg. Other than having to whack the starter everytime I shut it off it was a good trip.

My LS1 V8 Powered 240Z averaged 31MPG on a 1800 mile road trip last year. Cruising speed averaged 75-85MPH. In sixth gear, it turns 1800rpms at 80MPH.

My L20B/SU's/ Dogleg 5 speed 2 door 510 get 26-27 MPG at average speeds of 65-75.

My stock L16/Auto 2 door 510 gets 22-23 MPG at average speeds of 65-75.
