My friend Tim's '77 hatchback

Well, we installed the transmission cross member and shifter today.  I also mashed a piece of 2.5" tubing and tack welded together the driver's side zorst from the manifold to the bell housing. Finally, we installed a mini-starter on the thing.  I'm glad I didn't buy the regular starter because I doubt it would have cleared the steering links.  It is coming along... slowly.

In the last pic you can also see the button head screws used on the water pump pulley for better fan clearance. It was TIGHT.

This may be me being too optimistic, but it's not as bad as it looks.

Fan clearance is very tight, but engine/radiator clearance is great.

I just see lower rad hose next to the exhaust.

Oil cooler under the exhaust.

Fan clearance already stated getting tight.

I'm trying to imagine the rad. hose fitment.

I'd hate to hear of the exhaust burning that hose through.

Well if Tim would let you work on your 1200 it might be a fair fight :P

I'm liking the because racecar shifter. As long as the other guy is deaf, this thing will be a mean sleeper :ninja:

So, wanna come to GA and shoehorn a VG33 into my B210 sedan? While 4 doors does indeed fit more hoes, A-series may not haul georgia hoes faster than 20mph... Might need stiffer springs to :poke:

we will certainly make sure it's safe.

Or at least "Safe-Adjacent."  We really should put a roll hoop/cage in there but I'm far too lazy.  Besides, it is just my head which would be squashed... no passenger seat, y'see.

Actually, he's been very good about that lately. Only asking me to come take pics occasionally.

Yeah, I've been feeling guilty monopolizing his time.  At least with him excited about his project, I don't have to shoo him away and he doesn't try to take the wrenches out of my hand anymore... well, not as often at least.

Today was a "Tim Can NOT Weld" day.  After having new tires installed on the Genesis, I stopped by the shop to zook up that zorst pipe we made last week... It was not a success.  I shut down and left before I farked anything up.
