isomswim
Tip for mounting the bung you need it to be closer to the collector in the exhaust. Most newer wideband O2 sensors are heated but they still need the heat from exhaust to reach temp. Read through the instructions and see where innovation recommends. They can go bad very quickly if they can't maintain temp. Just a heads up before you get too far into it. 1 Quote Link to comment
willz
They recommend at least 24" away from the manifold, between the 9 and 3 o'clock position. They recommend against allowing the sensor to preheat as it raises the chances of messing up the sensor for whatever reason 1 Quote Link to comment
isomswim
Cool. I just wouldn't put it too far away as that can have an affect on the readings. I'll be looking forward to seeing your results though and how well it helps in tuning. I've seen a few done on other "hot rods" but not a Datsun yet. Quote Link to comment
willz
Been a little busy lately but I got some stuff done. Received my new turnsignal stalk/high beams from HOGIE in the mail today as well as a plug I needed for the ignition harness. Mounted the linkage kit and re installed the Weber as well as made a throttle cable. Interesting fact: the cables they use for bicycles work perfectly, even the capture piece that snaps on the pedal assembly. Some pics: Getting the left over cable cover out. Tadaaaa And installed! I went with white. Not sure why but these things come in almost every colour known to man. 3 Quote Link to comment
HOGIE
That was fast. I shipped it yesterday. Wow 1 Quote Link to comment
willz
Really? That's absurdly fast 1 Quote Link to comment

willz
In other exciting news, some guy on offer up posted a set of fiberglass ZG flares after finding out they won't fit his ford. Planning on picking those up tomorrow. They are brand new, never drilled or painted. $65 1 Quote Link to comment
willz
So the fenders might be getting cut tomorrow 1 Quote Link to comment
sslow6twnty
Was just talking about flares on the 620 I just picked up. Very curious on how this will turn out and will follow! do you plan on going lower then, because I'd like mine to sit similar to yours. Quote Link to comment
willz
I'll probably be messing around with the height after I put the flares on, I'll take a few pictures of the truck from the outside with some measurements of height and where the torsion bars are cranked down at. Mine may be different than yours because of tire size. 205/55/15 Just gotta convince my wife I need the flares first 1 Quote Link to comment
KoHeartsGPA
Mine is so low I considered flares, but the fenders and bed are in perfect condition to cut... Quote Link to comment
FrankRizzo
I like the rerouted vacuum line for the booster! Make sure that hose wont collapse, vacuum line is actually 11/32" - http://www.mpbrakes.com/techtalk/how-to-series/picking-the-proper-vacuum-hose-for-your-brake-system. Mine is [currently] the most irritating part of my bay, partially because the PO got overspray on it. I just ordered some absurdly expensive Ring Brothers hose that I can form because my port is still on the other side of the engine. . 1 Quote Link to comment
willz
That was one of my concerns when looking for hosing. It's a super heavy duty hose, actually had to heat it up with a torch to get it to slip over the check valve. It's temporary though, there's plans of installing a pedal assembly like the one wilwood or tilton make with the slave/master cylinders inside the cab. 1 Quote Link to comment
willz
Pulled the exhaust last night, drilled a hole and welded in the 02 bung Sits about 4-6" away from the transmission Ran the cable over the trans and up into the cab Tonight will be hooking up the gauge and doing the calibration hopefully 2 Quote Link to comment

willz
Running a little on the lean side, but that could be an exhaust leak so I'm going to go through and tightening everything up again, then timing, then I'll start fudging around with the carb 1 Quote Link to comment
