Stoffregen Motorsports
It's also fun to see that mountain of parts disappear onto a vehicle. I just bought a wire rack for parts storage for the vehicle I am building at the moment, and I love to see the shelves get bare. 3 Quote Link to comment

mrbigtanker
So swapped my new old Nissan fj20 alternator. Fixed belt drag issue but now not charging. It was converted to single wire. Need to look in to this. If this gets removed that’s a big burden lifted off my shoulders. Next is add up to 15 psi of boost and small odds and ends. 1 Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
No charge even if you rev the motor a bit? 2 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
This! Often there is residual magnetism in the core and revving it gets the ball rolling. Once energized it keeps charging even al idle. 2 Quote Link to comment

Yes sir, how ever he is telling me now I need to pull it out because he thinks he knows what's wrong. Its a factory Fj20 alternator converted to single wire. 1 Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
I don't really get why you like single wire so much. A sense wire running to elsewhere in the system will give a better charge rate, and the dummy light is convenient... 1 Quote Link to comment
