You'll find it kind of hard to chrome that grille, beings as how it's stainless steel.

 

Personally, I would have the headlight trim re-chromed, and then polish the all living piss out of your grille. By polish I mean buffing, not Mother's and a rag. So the down side is initial investment in a good buffer, buffing wheels, and compounds. And remember one compound per buffing wheel!

 

I love me some polishing... I'll be buying a nice Baldor buffer setup some day sooner or later. I love it as an art, so maybe once it's set up and such I'll start offering my buffing services :)

"Black Chrome" is actually a Nickle Oxide coating. Stainless Steel has a high Chrome and Nickle content which gives it the rust resistant property. Black Chrome plating should adhere well but will likely be expensive if you go that route.
