So I have two different motor options I can run both are a good deal because they are coming from a good friend of mine

Motor number 1

a free s13 sr20de which has been set up to run dual carbs the motor comes with a dizzy modified for the carb set up all I would have to buy is the manifold for the carbs which I have located so it shouldnt be hard to find and I would have to buy the carbs also not too hard to find my other buddy has a set of rebuilt mikuni 44's,and for $800 my buddy will give me a tomei 2.2 sr20de stroker kit

Motor number 2

s14 sr20det from the same friend for a very good price

I'm leaning towards the carbed sr because its seems cool and you dont see a carbed sr every day and I wouldnt have to deal with any wiring but on the other hand its wont have the power or the power potential of the sr20det

so what do you guys think ?

They're both SR20D's.

My opinion, carb'd SR!

Don't stress on the stroker kit.

Any SR, turbo, NA, whatever is plenty power to scoot a dime around.

:cool:

What happened to post #1 in this thread?

One is SR20DE, and the other SR20D... E=Fuel injected..

I do plan on driving it all the time so i guess drive ability is a factor although i drove my last 510 all the time with no problems and it had carbs on it but I never drove it to far and the storker kit would be a plan for the future its normally $3500 so for $800 thats is a steal, and i have no idea what happened to the first post thanks for the help

Both are DE's. He's just taking the 'E' out of one of them.

D=dual cam.

Both are 2 liter dual cammed motors.

The carbed non-turbo setup will be a heck of a lot easier to install. All that tubing, intake and exhaust, plus the efi wiring. So depends on how much time you want to spend. You could drop the NA one in and have it running over the weekend, not so with the turbo motor. Likely you'll spend a solid month or more getting everything in there so it can run.

Looks like ill be going with the carbed Sr20 that was my plan from the get go until the Sr20det was offered to me but I would like the car to be running asap and like some of you pointed out the carbed Sr could be in and running in a weekend while the sr-t would take a bit more time should have the motor all setup by the end of the month and ill take lots of picture
