datzenmike
The early 620 used the same L16 truck motor till Sept. '73 and then used an L18 through '74 which dimensionally is the same as the L16. The pans should be very very close to the same as off the 521. '75 and on used an L20B which is 3/4" taller but otherwise identical. I put a car L20B motor in my old '71 521 and had to use the L16 pan and pick up so I know they fit. A truck L20B pan may also work??? Link to comment
dross93ranger
I've got an L20B in the truck right now and the oil pan contacts the tie rods pretty bad, so I'll need the L16 oil pan. The motor was in the truck when I bought it, so I am not sure if it is a truck/car motor. Link to comment
datzenmike
Most probably a truck motor as car pans are not friendly with the front steering on the 521. That's why I said my L20B was from a car, had to use the L16 pan from the worn out motor on it. Well good to know about the pan. The oil pickup is in the back sump of the pan so plenty of room to take a ball peen hammer and dent it in for clearance. It's only tight in the straight ahead position. Link to comment

This post on the other hand will drop off the board in about a day and get buried and he likely won't see it. Link to comment
