Newbie here,, 510 questions

Have a full race 510, triple Mukuni carbs. Going to pick up roller 510, would like to power with ka24de motor as I have three long blocks to work with. is the 240 rear end close to a drop in? and the 5 speed trans from same 240 ? and thanks for your patience

Yes trip. Carbs on a L-16 motor, will take picts if needed. The can won championships in its day at Sebring,, Scca racing. The ole guy that built it is awesome and still races at age 70 plus.

The S14 has a a short nose R-200 the 510 has an long nose R-60. They are somewhat similar looking but in no way a drop in.

 

If you look under your 510 you'll see that the stock 4 speed is only 26" long. Your S14 is much longer.

 

26" 510 4 spd.

 

35" S14 5 spd

Triple Mikunis on a 4 cylinder? I don't see how that's possible. How do you split the 6 carb barrels into the 4 intake ports? This, I would like to see.

Thanks, i do my best but my 15 y/o daughters says I am never right no matter what, unless its giving her more money,,,, then I am tolerable but not for long. lol.

 

how can i squeeze the ka24de and trany into the 510?? thanks

well you need to either buy a new front cross member, cut and flip yours or build a rear sump oil pan for the KA. then get a new trans cross member then make the tunnel alittle wider for about the last 8" of the trans. lastly you need to shorted the drive shaft. after than you have to buy one of icehouse's can am wiring boxes to make the wiring easier (there is a how to for the wiring in the how to section) i know it sounds complicated but it really isnt that bad. check out some build threads with KA or SR swaps, those will give you some visuals to go by

Thanks everyone for your patience with the rookie, the Stanza has two holes in the bottom of the block the size of a orange on one side and a golf ball on the other. Great way to inspect the crank, yea its trashed.I am having trouble finding a ka ft wheel drive block.

I just bought 2, 510s, one is parts for now,, the other might be for daughter,, both for 600.00 the white one is complete needs much but can be done, hard to find 510 at least here on west coast of Florida, The yellow one Parts the white one restore

Hello Rats,,, I bought two 510s today total price 600, the yellow one is parts for now,, the white one is for daughter?? lots of work but simply do not see 510s for sale in this area South Florida.

 

The white one is complete, interior is all there even the radio,
