throttle cable trouble

Recommended Posts

have a 72 521 just recently been having trouble with my throttle cable. the cable is frayed pretty bad. but the overall issue is that its not staying connected to the actual gas pedal and its also coming off on the rocker lever connected to the spring. any suggestions? other cables from other years work? or where i might be able to pick one up. checked a few local shops and they did not have them for order.

I don't know about the spring, but this issue with the gas pedal can be fixed a couple ways, the easiest is to find a small plastic/rubber cap that slips over the end, or a small zip tie around the top.

If you really can't find or make what I just suggested work, take the pedal out and drill a small hole across the very end and put a cotter key threw the hole.
