paradoxx
I do have one question... Are these Bi-xenon? Considering that the 7" rounds are primarily in cars that use them as both hi and low (and that your kits are Bi-xenon), I kinda figure these would be designed in a similar fashion. And being DOT approved, well as a user, as long as my headlights arent blue (No I wont run 10k bulbs), I doubt I will get any attention because of them. Ben: I need to recall what Leacaon asked. Im using bi-xenon with motorized bulbs, will that work on your setup? or is something for an advanced phase of the prototype? Quote Link to comment

We might go lows only and you keep your halogen highs or a bi-xenon projector setup from the "low beam" side. Those bi-xenon motorized bulbs are not good IMO. Projectors have a flap that regulates the light as opposed to moving the bulb. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
I'm with Laecaon on this one. -Taking the time to answer everyone. -Showing results from other products made. -Reputable sources of others who have used your product. Keep up the good work. I like where this is going! Quote Link to comment

Shagy
I will +1 for the moving flap in the lamp assembly. If you can simulate the bmw design/size....I might switch over. Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Not being Bi-xenon would be a deal breaker with me. I have been planning on making my own set using Bi-xenon for some time. Its just so bloody expensive that I can do so many other things to the Datsun that I have avoided it. This is the kit I have been looking at. Have found a source for clear lens (non flutted) H4 housing that I would then install these projectors into. http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?products_id=237 1 Quote Link to comment
Shagy
Go find a maxima that is only a few years old with hid's...they have the moving flap. Quote Link to comment
bens1088
Ok well that input helps you guys. I'll make sure these are bi-xenon then. The Morimoto kit is nice but expensive. I should be able to have a complete setup for you guys pretty close to that price. Quote Link to comment

bens1088
That feel when I'll never have nice headlights for my truck We have a 6"x7" square kit available! Here! Ben: Thank you so much for sollowing us and answering all of our concerns, I mean, almost no one comes here and try to create something to us the old car lovers, not even our own dealerships can give some help these days. No problem. I have an S130 myself and started this (2 years ago) because I was looking for some projector headlights. The obsession went a little far :D And also if you guys have a part that you think LOTS of people would want (and would be willing to put in for a group buy), I can go out and source, find, develop, make, etc. for you guys. I usually need about 50 people to do/start a project. Quote Link to comment

Sparks
currently im working on a set for my truck. have to move the battery to the bed though because im using FXRs and they are quite large. if this kit was available before i started i would have gone with that. i may order a set for high beams only if thats something that gets made. i got all of my components apart from the hella housings from TRS. theretrofitsource.com. very helpful and decent prices. only hard part is actually getting these damn things to fit. looking forward to finished product and ill be in for the group buy. bens1088
Received some GREAT news today. We had TWO designs approved. One will be a Classic version similar to our 7" round. The other will be a Modern also similar to our 7" round however this will be DOT approved! We should have sample kits in our hands in about 6 months. We will be looking for cars to test fit with an option to buy them at a discounted rate. More information to come. Pricing is looking to be around $225-250 without an HID kit. This is for ONE pair of lights- BUT the lights will be bi-xenon. You can either upgrade to an H4 high beam or leave the stock lights in there in addition to the bi-xenon high beams. (Basically you should have double high beams) 6 Quote Link to comment

bens1088
Just posting an update. Because creating a mold to mass produce these is pretty expensive, we've had some samples CNC'd. We are going to need a few test cars. I will update you on pricing but they will be fairly cheap. Those should come in around end of April. Quote Link to comment

MYTE_510
We spent a lot of money having molds made for a evo x project we did back in the day..... It was pretty ridiculous actually. (I used to do what you are doing for a living back in the day before my partner decided to run the company into the ground......) I'm working on a bi-xenon set for my 510 using 350z projectors and LED tail lights but those projects have been put on hold until I get my car running :) I'm hopeing you can get a bi-xenon setup figured out so that I don't have to continue with mine :) I'll be keeping an eye on this thread! bens1088
Quick update. Prototype should be here next month. I have 4 sets. 2 low beam, 2 high beam, 2 bixenon. We might have to fiddle with wiring to get it all working but everything is moving along ....slowly. Quote Link to comment

xlr8r
I've been checking this thread everyday for an update. If you want to an example of how your lights compare to BMW projectors (on a Datsun) let me know. I'd be more than happy to do a comparison test to see how your product shows them up.
