yello620
I would run at the first chance that i got from that V-10. Not to mention that selling anything with a large v-8 or v-10 right now is near impossible. I am a little partial to the nissan lineup too though. Jason Quote Link to comment
moparvwfreak
well the V10 isn't the problem its the maintainance on it. everything is expensive on it. i like the truck but if i decided to do this it would be in MY favor. better gas mileage, easier to drive, cheaper insurance, and cheaper mainatinance. the only thing i really would be loosing is a little $$ seeing the difference in average price on those. but all in all this truck has paid for itsself int he last 3 years. datsunon40s
check bluebook value see which one is worth more .... sell it and buy what you really want .....my 2 cents Quote Link to comment
moparvwfreak
i have. the path is about $1000 less than the truck but i have been trying to sell this beast for the last year and a half with no bites. :( Quote Link to comment

You can think that you are losing 1k in value or realize that you would have to lower the dodge price at least 1k to get rid of it.. Value is now equal in my eyes. And the nissan will last longer if it is taken care of. Jason Quote Link to comment

kiznook
DITCH the dodge. those V10s are junk...well, they aren't that bad except that chrysler pretty much gave up on them, meaning little to know parts available. Run away, seriously, the pathfinder will be WAY better, even if you have to replace the tranny sometime down the road. Not to mention gas prices, even if the milage isn't much different, potential buyers would be more drawn to the nissan anyway. EWWWW V10!! If I don't see a post on here in the next few days that says you traded, and has pictures of the new ride, I will b VERY disappointed Quote Link to comment
datsunfish
I have a 91 pathfinder and I love it.Should be almost the same as the 95.It gets my wife to work safely and is great for trips. It only averages around 19-22 mpg all day long.Ask any owner.Heavy but well balanced.A great 4x4.Plus the pathy dash is a vinyl substance rather than hard plastic like all other american toys.:D Quote Link to comment
freaky510
hell if you dont like it. take the nissan motor and put it in you:lol:r dime Quote Link to comment
moparvwfreak
the V10 isn't a bad motor IF the maintainance is kept up on. which for the most part i have been. i would have preferred a diesel but i couldn't afford one when i got this one. oh well. i think i might just have to. that is unless i sell it sooner. oh and the trans on teh Path.... it was redone not to long ago. maybe 3 yrs ago. hell if you dont like it. take the nissan motor and put it in you:lol:r dime i would if i had a dime! Quote Link to comment
Bleach
drop the price on your dodge and dont buy anything to replace it. :D maybe a 1989 Honda Civic wagoon that gets 35mpg actually, you have plenty of cars! :D hehe Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
If those Dodge V-10s were so hard to sell I haven't seen it... they still command near bluebook on the auction circuit. Diesels are worse pricewise, still adds a 100-300% premium over a similar Gas truck. Even with Diesel over $4.10 a gallon. But then again I'm cheapskate, trying to find a "new" 3/4T tow rig for under $1500. My '71 F250 is pretty much done for, the rust has taken over and the engine badly needs to be reworked. Not worth it. Quote Link to comment

Bleach
Dealerships always overprice their cars.... well, almost always Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
Asking price isn't what they're worth... SELLING price is. I could ask $2500 for my '72 510. Doesn't mean it's worth it. But I see plenty who do ask that for cars in similar condition. I worked for a used car dealer for several years. Sticker markup could be as high as 300% over what the dealer paid for it, but even the low-profit cars were posted with high KBB prices (but they'd show you it was "priced under KBB"). moparvwfreak
Dealerships always overprice their cars.... well, almost always that they do. and usually get what they want. hell a dealer would price my truck at $12k and get it. Asking price isn't what they're worth... SELLING price is. I could ask $2500 for my '72 510. Doesn't mean it's worth it. But I see plenty who do ask that for cars in similar condition. Bleach
why does a dealer get what they want? (I see their stuff for sale online for a LONG time sometimes) Maybe they end up trading it to another dealer because it won't sell. Maybe they get what they want because they offer financing or because they take trades. So its their services not the price that sells it. Right now, I see Frontiers for sale at dealerships that were for sale back in August 2007 when I was originally looking for one. One of them changed dealerships but the price is the same. Still wont sell. I ended up buying my truck from a private party back in September. Quote Link to comment

datsunfish
Dealers over price things to make you think you are getting a deal when you haggle them down. Also everybody takes it in the ...when they finance because they dont have all the $$.Bring in $10k cash to a dealership and you could likely walk away with a $12K sticker vehicle out the door for 10.I work at a rv dealership and its the same thing. Its all about the #s at the end of the month.I have sold a couple rigs for under $1k on CL and everybody wants me to take payments.F.O.
