Steering Wheel

Hello Fellow 521 Owners. I was wondering if theres a way i can install a quick release steering wheel on my truck, and if so what would i need to buy to make this possible? Kind of a silly question but i've looked but cant find anything answers on google or in the bible lol Please help :)

ive thought about the same thing, some of my friends that have ricers have them on their cars, but i have never looked into it

You need a hub or "boss" mounted to your steering column first. The quick release is in 2 parts.....1st part mounts to the hub by way of usually 6 screws, the 2nd part to the steering wheel. Then the steering wheel slides and locks over the 1st part attached to the hub. Pretty simple job. I believe the quick release kits are universal but don't cheap out on those EBAY knockoff ones. You don't want any play in your steering wheel due to bad machining or loose fittings.

I believe this will move your steering wheel ~2" closer to you. My 521 was already cramped.... maybe that's because I'm so muscled up.

if he is already doing the work to put this on, he might as well shorten the collum

I use this a lot on my older cars. Its easy to install, but does bring the wheel a little closer to you.

Thanks for all the feed back guys. Its a lot to think about, i wasn't aware that it brought the wheel closer to you, n i'm crammed in there as it is. lol
