xxmass
Hey everyone, I just recieved a fresh quote of $785 to replace the windshield in my truck. Must pay first, and wait at least one month for importation. YIKES ! I'm not ready for that expense yet. x Quote Link to comment
jefe de jefes
Ouch. Come to California. I have a couple used ones. Quote Link to comment
Madness
Yeah good luck, you're best bet is to find one used. I got a quote for $850 for just the glass, $150 for install, and no guarantee it wouldn't break going in. On top of that i had to find my own gasket. Needless to say i wont be going there. Hardwyre
Hell, for half that you can probably have someone sell, ship, and find someone to help you install one. Sounds a bit like they're trying to bend you over the hood. Quote Link to comment
jon521
$35 from pick-a-part  Quote Link to comment

xxmass
I was anticipating around 300. Looks like pick-a-part search is on. Quote Link to comment
nismo dr
yeah, wrecked cars have the best windshields   Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Doesn't Pilkington Glass have like 10 more new ones at like $350? I figure they can ship to any glass shop the ship to regularly for fairly cheap. As for install, easy. I actually just removed and reinstalled my windshield on my car to add sealant. No cracks here. Just need the glass the windshield and some rope (oh I guess some sealant too). Quote Link to comment

wayno
It would probably cost about $150.00 something to have UPS pack and ship a windshield, I am guessing as I am shipping 320 windshields at the moment, and it costs about $145.00 to get one to Pennsylvania with insurance, and it looks like they pack it nice, as I watched them yesterday, they use a bicycle box and a lot of foam peanuts, and they guarentee it will make it undamaged, that is what they say anyway. wayno Quote Link to comment

And at least it's a bit more difficult to toss around than an order of hard drives from Newegg. >:| Quote Link to comment
DatWifey
We just picked up a much better windshield for our 521 at the Vancouver Pick'n'Pull about 3 weeks ago as well. Sometimes there are hidden gems.... it's always worth checking. Some say we are crazy driving that far just to check out a truck in a yard, but it's well worth it when you find shit like that! That is funny, I was wondering who got that winshield with the big circle(green??) on it, but I couldn't find the problem in the circle, usually they circle the problem, there is another one(521) in the foster road yard, that windshield is good except for one little spot on the lower pass. side, there is still some left of that truck, but it isn't pretty up close, instrument cluster is still there, door glass is out, as well as the door hardware is gone, it is a 1970, and I beleave the rearend hardware is still all there, the hood might be good, can't recall as they want to much for that stuff, so I didn't look that close, the pass. door is dented. The front bumper was bent a little, but fixable if you know what your doing. Quote Link to comment
