blackdeth666
Update time! I decided to truck needed a change.... its looked the same for too long! So right in the middle of my other 10,000 projects, I started going to town stripping off paint and bondo. Goal in mind; to have the whole thing one color! I like the roughness of the truck, and getting the single wall bed all bodyworked seems like a waste of time, so there won't be any bondo. I covered all the bare metal with primer. Then the PLASTIDIP! Its a bit of a process, you have to build up the coats. Heres 4 coats (6 cans) Now the hood, roof and cab corners are under way all nested in down there... 3 Quote Link to comment

blackdeth666
One thing led to another.... and 2 beers, 2 sawzall blades and 20 minutes later....... I scored this bad boy a little while back, I decided it was time to put 'er on! I had to move the mounts up 3" to accommodate for the body drop. when I initially did the body drop, this whole mount was rusted beyond saving so I had to re-create it. If only I'd had this core support back then!! Much easier to just chop it down. The test fit... slid right on! more updates as it unfolds! 4 Quote Link to comment
blackdeth666
I got the 521 all dipped and put back together minus the hood about 3 weeks ago now. Here is where the new 'bolt on' core support meets the inner fenders. I used foam tape that you would put under a canopy shell on a truck normally to seal the gap. I'm happy with the result. starting to come together! All together!! -hood This is just before we cruised out to dick's I will have another update very soon..... it involves my hood. and this :ninja: 2 Quote Link to comment

blackdeth666
Blister formed from 18g steel, it took me 2 tries to get this right, the first one got too small as it started curving. I used my home made hammer and a regular tube sand bag. then i ran it thru this bad boy over at my buddys place, It really smoothed it out! theres a weld about every half inch, ground down then seam sealed. This ones made from 20g steel, formed with a ball peen hammer, home made hammer and a 2x6 carved out with the grinder. rolled it thru the english wheel and trimmed it out, looks like a little popcorn bowl! All done and dipped! I need to spend a little more time lining up the panels but I'm just glad its all together for now. 7 Quote Link to comment
