WTB: Wagon

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a Datty wagon of some sorts, and no not the back half of a p/u:fu:....

Doesn't have to be running. The older the better! I can deal with some rust. pretty impartial about everything else!!!

If you have something post up a pic, or PM, or email me!

Calling all EAST COASTERS!!! Give me your wagons!:D

HA HAH HAHAHAHAH! Now that IS funny!!!! There are no wagons on the east coast! Hell even the Nissan dealers don't know what a Datsun is up here!

Wait I take this back. There is a pretty damn nice 510 wagon for sale around here. But the seller knows how hard they are to find in these parts. First 510 wagon I have seen for sale in these parts in over a year. And I look every day!

http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/car/614666989.html

BUT I put feelers out in the western IN area and I did just get a line on a '75 710 wagon south of Robinson Ill. for an asking price of $1500. That's alot closer to Nashville than Boston! This is what the owner wrote me:

"I have a 1975 datsun 710 wagon,4cyl,auto, air(complete but not working),rust hole in left rear door at rocker and jam, I put in a new windshield and alternator a couple years ago but just never needed to liscense or title it. Just sets in the hanger. Has 13 radials, excellent tread but have some dry rot cracks, descent little car. $1500, if interested I will sent pictures, I'm about 20 miles south of Robinson Ill. Thanks Bill"

Let me know if you want his e-mail.

Wow, that is a nice one in boston! The one in IL is more my style... and price...

I wouldn't mind to have his email, see a couple pics and study on it a little. Thanks!

Yeah there is a 79 210 in Knoxville, tn http://knoxville.craigslist.org/car/615365390.html

But I would like to get something older. and there are a couple in FL but they are way overpriced and wayy to good looking...

I guess I'll just play the waiting game for a while...

That wagon was for sale in Portland ORE for a month, was asking around $2800. I wonder what the seller paid for it and what profit he will be making on it? Any car from Portland or Seattle will probably have rust unless it has be stored inside most of its life. Look closely for RUST!

I'm new to the wagons and really don't know about their problematic areas, such as where they get the most typical rust, and where they rust that you don't see.. and so on. I can fix most straight sections of rust, but when it comes to replacing metal that was stamped from the factory... I'm just about out, unless I have a rare donor?... Any pointers?

EZ I sent you a PM. Lets us know what you hear!

Huh... it does make you wonder why why the Boston guy would be selling after going to all the trouble of having it sent over here. It isn't like there is a huge market waiting for Dattos in new england, so I doubt it was to make a profit.

But for the price I'd hope it was damn near rust free!!!

My good friend has a great 411 wagon for sale in Orlando.

He was holding it for me, but there's no way I'm transporting it cross-country.

PM me if you're interested.

Well, I think the no title would pose a problem.. It wouldn't if he had it registered and lost the title... Well, honestly I don't know. I don't know if I could get an antique tag or what.. I will have to look into it! It looks perfect for me. It would give me the run around for parts, especially interior:( And I have nooo Idea where to get parts for something like that other than another car!

Man I've had some awesome response to this ad and I appreciate the camaraderie!!

when i first saw it i thought it was destiny because all my datsuns are orange. but i had to pass it on to a fellow ratsuner in need. i need to be happy with the dattos i have. i can't fix them up if i keep buying more! i do want it, he told me it will come with a extra l-series and tranny. but it has no grill or dash. he also said the price is negociable, so if he still has it you could pick it up very cheap.

WOW! That 710 looks straight as hell! I had no idea it would look so good. Damn I wish I could get the wife to appreciate the 710 & 610 lines. She like the older stuff more.

I may want to sell my 74 710 wagon and I am only a an half hour east of Huntsville, Alabama which really isnt that far from Nashville. Its all there but the engine/trans is out at the time. It only has a small amount of rust on the front left frame rail from where the exhaust burning off the paint. Body is straight, interior in great shape, new brakes, rear wheel bearings, L18 originally(still have it), four speed trans, will need clutch master and/or slave cylinder. I'd take $2,000 for it and a bunch of spare parts. Have a new electronic distributor, one used electronic distributor, 2 five speed ZX trans, Weber DGV on stock manifold, original crappy Hitachi carb, JDM L18 with peanut head-complete long block, good A87 peanut head complete, new factory steering box, new factory master cylinder and brake booster, new factory left front fender, new timing chain assembly, new rocker arms, new oil pump, some gaskets, headers, oil cooler, and misc parts. I also have a complete dual Weber 40 DCOE carb set up including manifold, linkages, extra jets and floats, etc. I'll let go for $350 if you buy the car. I was going to swap over to the five speed and JDM L18 but havent had the time and kind of need the money now. I'd like to finish it, if it doesnt sell I will do that. I dont have it for sale anywhere else so this is the only place its posted now. It does not have a title, here in Alabama anything 1974 and older only requires a bill of sale. It does have current registration. Oh, I also have a L28 and a bunch of parts from a 79 280 ZX coupe I'll throw in like front struts and brakes, power steering system, suspension stuff, even the ECU that is useless unless you swap the L28 into the 710, lol.

Here is a really crappy picture, only one I have right now, I will take all you want if your interested. The stuff on the car in the picture is now off of it, we had just moved and had to find places to put stuff while we unpacked and set up the garage.
