So it turned out the rear seal spring popped out during installation and gear oil was spraying on the exhaust..ewww smell to say the least. 

I also got a new leaf spring center pin, still need to swap that out. 

 

Was a discussion in one of datsunfreaks threads about reconfigured use of a gear oil pump. Here's how to fill quick and suck every last drop out of the container.

Here's how I am taking care of the output bearing issue. 

 

Upgrade!
Advance Adapters 1-3/8" 32 spline output shaft. Aluminum housing and a new 32 spline yoke for my 1310 u-joint shaft. 
For comparison the stock output shaft is 1-1/8" 10 spline, this is the beef. :)

Looks like a great trip.

 

Also looks like your dog is feeling hugely guilty after having killed a man with that knife so he's getting drunk to forget.

So we didn't need the wagon for our annual 'Canby' trip, green got the spot.
