datsun510w
I have a set of Makuni carbs and manifold, I have measured the ID of the barrel and it measured 48mm. they have been sitting on a shelve for over 5 years, but they ran good until I blew my motor, and didnt have the money to rebuilt a good motor at the time, so I never got to put them on again. Now its time to sell Price: $700 shipped any where with in the 48 states, $650 picked up located in San Diego http://tinypic.com/r/2r6i05v/7 Link to comment
ggzilla
That's a really compact manifold. 48 Mikunis are good for the larger engines. Link to comment
datsun510w
At the time I was running a fully built L20B, it wasnt an economic car but it killed almost everything on the road if someone can show me an easy way of adding pics, ill add more Link to comment
Burabuda
never heard of 48 makuni's so they must be 44 mikuni's (mikuni 50's do exist, but i doubt they'd fit that intake) btw dd, that's intake is the standard mikuni l-series 4cyl seems to be a clean set at any rate  Link to comment
matwood
I will take the manifold and linkage from you if you are willing to separate. Please let me know ASAP so I can NOT spend the money. HA! Thanks man, Madison Link to comment
datsun510w
If you want the manifold it will cost you $700 and you get a free set of carbs, or you can buy the carbs for $700 and get the manifold for free Link to comment

datsun510w
Not familiar with the bolt pattern for an A series motor, but I want to say that the bolt pattern for the manifold wont fit the A series motor Link to comment
ggzilla
50mm carb is too big for a 1.5 liter engine, unless it's a dedicated race engine. Link to comment
CorAce
Soooooo tempting it hurts! Link to comment

matwood
there should be a number stamped on the Butterfly's of the carbs. What is the number, this will settle what size the mikuni's really are. Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
dont separeate the manifold. nice carbs looks like from a Toyota. as has the toyota marks on side of carbs. probably from a 18RG Link to comment
gbiker
So i know this sounds dumb but if i have a l16/l18 this should just be a bolt in deal? Link to comment
datsun510w
the stamp on the valve is 165, but I also measured the other side of the barrel and it measures 40mm This would bolt on with no problems to and L16, L18, L20. They do have a symbol on the side but, they are Solex/Makuni carbs with the short Makuni manifold Link to comment
ggzilla
So they might be 40s? The bore is measured at the manifold side, so you would need to remove the manifold to measure it. Mikuni made licensed (some say improved) versions the famous Solex sidedraft carburetor out of France. They also made a ton of motorcyle carbs. Link to comment
matwood
165 = 40mm carbs.... 40/44mm PHH Type S540/44mm Type S5 Float Chamber gasketType S5 Jet Cover GasketThis is the more well known Type S5 carb. Now, once again, these came in both 40mm and 44mm versions but are best known in North America as the 44mm carb. This is also referred to as the 5 bolt top cover style of carb. Looking at the back of the butterfly will confirm size, 165 is a 40mm carb, 175 is a 44mm carb. Note that the kits will be the same for both 40 and 44mm carb. Simply specify Type S5 Carb. The S5 also has the external float adjuster around the fuel inlet pipe and uses a 10mm hex needle/seat. Link to comment
