izzo
what was the first year they made 620's~ 72 or 73? 73, but some were listed as 72 because of the build date/title situation with the state. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
11/72 And were listed as a 1972 620 pickup. Quote Link to comment
wildmaninid
Another one of Nissans 1/2 year models Lol Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Hmmm I always thought April '72. I can't find parts listed or build dates before that date. Anyway, always go by the build date on the door plate for parts. Registration back then sometimes reflected the year it was purchased. Quote Link to comment
pharouh
72.5 I go with what datzenmike says. He's our guru. Quote Link to comment
Steroid
The earliest 1972 620 that We have found was built in June. It belongs to Guy Gray. I had purchased it and sold it to Him a few years back. The one outstanding identifying factor is the very early trucks had door closer plastic handles inside, NOT armrests. There is also a difference in the carburetor. I only know of 4 620s that have door closers. One was up the street from where Mark lived in San Diego, one is in Dolan Springs AZ, one is the one Guy Gray has and another is owned by another Ratsun member. A while back, We listed the VIN numbers on another thread and if I recall correctly, the one Guy Gray has was the lowest. Quite possibly it was one of the first 620s sold in the US. It had Indio Datsun license plate frames, which I still have. Quote Link to comment
pharouh
Great info. I've had two 72 1/2 620's and neither one had the door pulls. No idea of the build date. I've seen pictures of 620's with 521 hubcaps. I take it that was an early carry over? Quote Link to comment
BRE510
My red 620 has a build of April '72 and my white one is build date June '72 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
You could totally be right Mike. I've seen 3 1972 620's with the date 11/72. That's all I've got. Quote Link to comment
