so whats wrong with cutting the engine mount towers and fab them?

 

Nothing that I see.

When you first said "fab towers" I thought you meant strut towers.

Fabbing the crossmember is a completely different thing.

 

Do you have a truck KA or a 240sx KA?

 

If it was me, I'd scour the salvage yards.

And I wouldn't be using thinner metal if I had to fab an engine cradle.

Yes, you can make new engine brackets, and leave the crossmeber alone. Few guys do it that way, but it is the most elegant way.

 

KA will fit with the stock A-series crossmember. Just need brackets for the engine mounts to put them in the correct spots. The brackets mount to the engine block.

im in the process of drawing up a mini blueprint. ill post a pic as soon as i think it may be done

that xmembr looks very similar to the 210s. thanks for the pics! their giving me good ideas

Now thats a good way to do it, I like that!

 

hopefully it works out well. now i just gota figure out where exactly i will need to drill the center hole for the mount on the bracket..

i was thinking maby i should measure from the crank pulley to the middile of the hole for the engine mount bolt on the A series. and use that lengh on the ka..
