Siqx20 Posted May 25, 2011 Report Share Posted May 25, 2011 Funny question I kno. I installed a tach in the truck. Im used to hondas that can rev to the moon. My truck idols at a lil under a grand. But when driving it revs to about 3-4 before I feel like I shouldn't push it to much harder. Its a tired motor. I have a l20 all stock with a 5 speed. Stock rear end. Everythig sound normal? I will check timing. I don't have a timing light but I can check my timing marks im sure. My ignition timing will be tricky I imagine without a light. But thanks I.will check these. villegs Posted May 25, 2011 Report Share Posted May 25, 2011 Mine pulls strongly to 5k, 6 is attainable but I agree it's seems unnecessary. Also with 32/36 and desmog. With the stock carb and emissions getting to 5k took some patience, it seemed like I was forcing it to get there. Quote Link to comment
Suspect Posted May 25, 2011 Report Share Posted May 25, 2011 I have a L16 in a truck and it revs alot better then the L20b in my other truck. Its probably because the L16 has a shorter stroke and smaller pistons. The L16 seems to me to have more power in the top end and the L20b has more torque in lower rpm's.
