lol the one thing Im envious of is you can just buy SBC performance shit off the shelf of any parts store

OHC will allow higher revving valve train... perfect for small displacement engines. Twice the revs twice the hp. The Corvette doesn't need high revs when it has large displacement. Almost 3 times that of an L20B. Push rods are good enough below 6K.

Good in theory, lousy in practice. The L-series doesn't rev twice as high as the Chevy V8.

 

The recent pushrod Chevy V8s redline higher than the OHC L-series engine.
