Llittle_Llama
The plug was pulled today and this is what I got. Let me know if this tranny is worth pulling or not please. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Refer to post #8 on your previous thread about this tranny... http://community.rat...5-speed-out-of/ In it I posted a couple of pictures of a magnetic bung with 'good' and a 'bad' accumulations of crud on them. Look at drain bung it has a magnet on the end that traps ferrous metal. It will normally have a black 'paste' on it. Maybe some fine particles. Relatively normal bung Not so normal bumg. . Black paste is normal...... tranny parts on it is bad. (I've seen them with ball bearings stuck to them) I would say that you bung is normal. This does not guarantee a good tranny it only weeds out the obviously bad, damaged or broken ones. Quote Link to comment

Llittle_Llama
Also, I cleaned it with that rag to get the goop off, then I used the magnet to pull it back on the... uh.... magnet. Quote Link to comment

Llittle_Llama
There was no fluid in the tranny, they drain it before it hits the yard. Is there anything else I can look for before pulling it and throwing it in? Quote Link to comment
