I have used those several times for automated theatrical set pieces and found them to be very annoying. The adjustable size is cool as is the ability to repair them. However The friction rating on them compared to standard v-belt must be a joke! The damn link belts always slipped on me even when I tensioned the !@#$%^& out of it. not to mention the 'links' are so tough that it more like a stiff chain where the links don't bend. They seem to introduce irregular shiv tension and make all kinda of horrible squeaks and squeals. I did however find a good use for them: Size them to the diameter belt needed for you application and take that down to the local HVAC shop to purchase a real V-belt ;)

LOL!! That is a good use for them. I'll try to remember to post to this thread later when I've had a chance to use them more. What you saw in the vid was all I've done with them. You've got me curious now! :)
