good to know... I'm tryin to do it on the low $ because I'm still kicking the idea around of puttin in the 510 IRS that I've got taking up space in my basement. I keep going back and fourth on it. the gear ratio would sure be nice, but the mis matched lug patterns wouldn't tho....

The 510 wgn axles are easily modified for 5 lug....you'd just have to change the front to 5 lug, which would probably be easier than trying to match it up with 4 lug.

My truck looks the same hight as yours. I love nalo oics. I found my stolen 83 toyota 4x4 there. my truck rides pretty smooth considering, I would like to raise the exhaust up a bit, it,s the first thing to scrape. My steering is crap as of now and I think I should replace the front bushings, a daunting task for me.

you might check the idler arm first.....they're notorious for getting loose and they'll make the front end feel likes it's gone.

ok i knew they culdnt it was a bet between me an my friend who said they could and i told him no

You could, but why? Theoretically, any rear wheel drive car can drift, with the right horsepower and suspension setup. I guess to each his own, but it's not for me. Grab a Mustang or something, their more readily available and not as rare.

when you re-index the torsion bars, is a good practice to get a toe alignment? or is it fine? i read once that you should, but only in one post. The guy who owned my 521 before me lowered the front with the torsion bars but i doubt he did an alignment

I know that the 720 4x4 leafs are a little softer and flatter then stock 620 leafs. that is what i have in my truck

So if 720 4x4 springs lower a 521, then will 521 springs put more lift on a 720 4x4? I know the 521 springs look more light duty, but I think you could keep the 720 4x4 overload springs with the 521 main springs...

I just happen to have a 521 and a 720 4x4. :-)
