L-series engine for J-series tranny

I have a '69 L521 truck with a J13 engine. I'm wondering if the L-series will mate to the tranny or if they changed the tranny between the models. Of course I can always make an adaptor plate, but trying to avoid that if possible.

EDIT: I've been searching around and it looks like there is nothing in common between J-series and L-series. Bummer. So, since my J13 is shot, what are my best options? Get a new L16 and tranny from a '70 or so? I understand I'll have to make new mounts. Thanks
