erichwaslike
so far ive seen a 510, a jet boat a first gen blazer, a mazda truck, a caddy, a body dropped s10, a duece and a half and a doggie wearing ear muffs. there has been almost no mention of the 521 this thread is supposedly about. maybe you should retitlew it the everything from your daily grind life. also why do all the trouble of fabbing a bag setup on kingpin shit? 1 Quote Link to comment

jrock4224
i already researched ball joint front ends extensively and the king pin, as far as geometery is still the best option... i dont like wierd caster issues....and secondly if i was gonna go ball joint i would just start fresh...i like the king pin, its prov9en, works and is durable...i can get it very low( layed) with it depite what people say...i repeat there s no ball joint cocnversion offered right now that i felt comfortable with...in the end i was just trading issues between set ups....i can disc brake the truck and lay frame on 18's....theres plenty of work that gets done....its just this got back burnered with south paw showing up... im on it now again though...slowly... ultimatley when i try to do things i try to improve on a good design... not the the king pin is a good design but its proven...and it works and i wont get wierd geometry issues...it came down to this ....any ball joint swap was gonna require as much work as starting over with a brand new front clip....im not racing , not hoping, not trying to tt the thing ...just frive a low truck that works and all my shit works first and for most to many people over think shit and try and reenginere the wheel ... keep it simple Quote Link to comment

jrock4224
ok so updating thread ... Han's new 521 chronological order forsomereason i cant find the original pic of the day h e got it but heres v1.0 lowered, weber rims.. then su's....and a stereo... single ten under dash... 4 inch blocks...stock leafs.. today it got 720 4x4 leafs four inch bolcks...removed the snubbers and replaced with a piece of conveyor material bolted in factory location for big bumps and a little travel.... has about 1.5 travel....which is alot. time to make more travel in the front ...we talked about removing the front snubber mount and either remaking it along with raising the shock towers or maybe coil overs like mr bigs green 521....for now its kidney belts and a exhaust that seriously needs to be re routed Quote Link to comment
Phixius
Looks like a Reverse brindle datto. Quote Link to comment

skyblue
this thread is funny. Everything but the girl, (girl being the 521) but great work on the boat, 510 and 521. what did you do about the carrier bearing on the 521? did you use a spacer to raise it...or? Quote Link to comment
jrock4224
spaced it about 3/4 inch ....think its actually too high but lowering it more might cure that so i will ask ..... couple more pics Quote Link to comment
mrbigtanker
Bro that looks killer.I did my coil overs and love it,1 problem though i got 350 spring rate springs if you do it go with 400# springs. It will be stiff but it will handle like a go kart and wont bottom out.Looks good guys keep up the good work.Love the color by the way red and black my 2 favorite colors.
