Update: I took grimace to paint shop today, painter says it will be ready by end of the month. Still debating on dehooking the bed. Any opinions painter says he will cut and buff it as well. Body work that needs done is the bed sides and tailgate

My $.02 on the bed hooks is to leave them on, I think they are unique and fit the old school look of the truck.

But it isn't my truck, you should make it the way you like it.

I'm excited to see how it comes out, I'm glad it's in the paint shop!

Im restoring my truck which had the hooks shaved. I plan on welding them back on. I personally think they are a key aspect of the vintage look. Removing them lessens the uniqueness of our old Dattos.

I used to be like, "that's a stupid reason to remove the bed hook," but then I ripped the pocket of a brand new pair of shorts and I was like, "f@#%!!!"

Still won't get rid of mine though. Just more careful now. I like the look and usefulness

But it your truck Gene.
