Pacific coast Datsun
Since my last post ive had the boat out several times. Im still getting a small leak fron the head but only at full throttle. & ive since ckeaned out the idle jet on the Weber. Its kooling off here & that means just about 1 month of boating weather left. 2 Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
In the last few weekends ive made "guides" that are welded to the trailer. They will keep the sides from rubbing on the inner fenders when launching / loading. Pics soon :-) 1 Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
PL Ok as boating season gets closer here in AZ myself & Steroid are making some improvements to our "therapy" machines. A few weeks back we took them to a boat show & got some interesting looks & questions. The trailer guides i made help alot..no more rubbing the fenders. Heres a few pix from the show... 3 Quote Link to comment

Pacific coast Datsun
Ok boating season 2014 has begun in BHC AZ ! I made a few adjustments to the Weber, made some new rudders for the jet & naturally a test run was in order.... @ Big bend state park Laughlin NV... then off to Lazy Harrys for an Ice tea... The new rudders work great but the weber still has a dead spot about mid throttle. Overall a great day on the river. 2 Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
A few more from yesterday... polished swim steps & the jet.. hard to see but i used a 300 zx rim center cap on the steering wheel..snapped right into the Grant horn part... 2 Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Ok ive been working on this in & around a few other projects the last few months & now its time to show it. I made an air scoop for the Weber using some scrap. It slides over a base then bolts into place & is more for looks really. Ill shoot it candy blue w/ flakes to match the jet.... & the Jolly roger flag ...why not ! 2 Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Ok i now have some color on the scoop & it's mounted ! 8 coats of candy & 4 coats of clear & 1 1/2 hours of wet sanding = this... Its more for looks than anything else & it was an excuse to shoot more metal flake B) 2 Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Took the OL girl out on the river yesterday & got some new pix...it was 110 but the water is 57 so it's a good combo  a better view of the 300 zx rim / horn cap... im in Laughlin NV...Bullhead in the background... ahhh...therapy ! 2 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Looks fantastic, nice work on that scoop. One question...what are the 2 rods sticking up at the back of the motor? 1 Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Thanks Steve, The scoop does nothing but it makes people do a double take so thats a win LoL. The rods will one day be welded to a chrome 720 tie down & it will be a place to attach the kneeboard rope. FYI the rods came off a disgarded foosball table i found down the street  2 Quote Link to comment

Pacific coast Datsun
Not really a good update but....the throttle cable snapped a few weeks back. I have a pedal mounted cable but it's a pusher style which means i have to route it from the opposite direction / make a new mount for it. I may just buy the correct cable over the winter & park her in the yard till next May. 1 Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Ok i decided too hook up the foot throttle & fab a few new brackets the other day. Hitting the river soon to see how it performs ! 1 Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Ok the new foot throttle works great & i kinda prefer it over the lever on the console. Its a crude setup for now...if i stay with the foot ill redo the design... & a shot of our beautifull river as i floated... L 20 B power !! 4 Quote Link to comment
75datjet
Hello everyone I just acquired one of these boats its a 1975 the block and hull numbersmatch but the interior of the boat needs a complete overhaul. Its got the original yellow gel coat with the original sundance and datsun stickers I seen a yellow one on here that is similar and it has the seats added to the bow that I am looking to add to mine. How can I upload photos? 2 Quote Link to comment

Gradyfest
I love how your valve cover says DATSUN instead of NISSAN. Must of been just a boat thing? 1 Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Depends on the year the motor was built. I have a few different L series valve covers; DATSUN, DATSUN 1600 and NISSAN 1 Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
75datjet - please post pics of your boat when you can & where are you located ? Gradyfest - i picked up that valve cover years ago @ a yard in San diego....some early models had them.As of a few weeks ago I put the boat in the garage for the winter to free up driveway space. 1 Quote Link to comment
