Up to '75 the door panel was held on with a metal clip that ran along the top. The clip can unscrewed and be removed. Will that allow the newer door panels to fit???

 

Without the metal holding the top you may be able to drill holes so the plastic buttons can be used??

 

 

Dang you have those side window vent things?

 

 

They have a cool factor for sure. I've owned many cars in the past that had this type of vent window. If you don't have air-con then they have some use for blowing air on your knees but in all cases the rest of the time when they are shut they would whistle from air leaks. Thieves would smash them in to reach in for the door lock without smashing out the whole window. I think my first car without them was my 510 and I loved it.
