rojadoja
So I just finished my saturn alt. swap, fired up the truck and the charge light comes on briefy, and then turns off like normal.... but then it comes back on and stays on. I am charging at 14.5 volts which is high. The plug on the alternator I am using looks like this saturn plug I have yellow from my t-connector, connected to "F" and white/red connected to "L" I flipped them around just to see, and the alt. stopped charging and there was no charge light at all. My charge lead is on the new charge post and the old ground is grounded at the alternator. What have I done wrong? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
14.5 is normal charge rate. Quote Link to comment

rojadoja
Now the alternator is not charging in any circumstance, looks like I will head back to the j/y to pick out a new one. Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Switching the wires can have some negative effects. I have burned up the voltage regulator doing that. Quote Link to comment
