boxboy
MMMM. Pretty. I am lovin' mine without "doing it all". Regasketing, tuning. She runs like a champ. Hope she lasts a long, long time yet. Quote Link to comment
roadwarrior
Yeah can't wait to get it back in and hear it run. Probably have in back in sometime in March to early april. Quote Link to comment
skooby_doo
Nice 520.5 thread going here!!! I just picked up a beater taurus S.H.O.S. (SUPER HUNK OF SHIT) so I can start ripping my 520.5 apart. Looks great! How far in depth did you go with the rebuild? Quote Link to comment
zed1
Looks great. Interesting valve cover, the vent on mine has a 90 degree bend. Also, there is no wording imposed on my cover. Does yours say "DATSUN" or "NISSAN"? I have an original "1300" foil decal for the valve cover. I am trying to find someone to duplicate it. Consider getting the 22162-25700 distributor cap, they have a retro look to them. Keep the photos coming. I need inspiration! Here is a link to my rebuild: My link Keith Quote Link to comment

roadwarrior
The machine shop replaced: http://www.clarksauto.com/<-- recommended shop in bay area ) Pistons .30 over from A12 engine bought from motor power inc ) bored cylinder ) reconditioned crank ) reconditioned connecting rod ) resurfaced head ) new valves and seats ) new timing chain kit ) color is dark ford blue more pics to come p.s. This j13 is actually in a 521 built in April 1969. May be the reason for the different valve cover. It says Datsun on the top. Quote Link to comment

68Datsun510
Seems like a good price for a new engine =) I just got a 521 with a J, and i wanna keep it that way unless it dies completely. Quote Link to comment
Rob W.
Very cool nice to see some one using the original engine and keeping an old one alive. Nice!! Quote Link to comment
roadwarrior
yeah I like the way they idle a 750 rpm and you can't even hear it running. Pretty cool and good gas mileage. They guy I bought it from would be happy to hear I kept it stock as well. I carried 800 lbs to the dump in it before I rebuilt it. Strong little engines. Quote Link to comment
