Hey Guys Im looking at picking up a Datsun pickup. My main question before I start looking is will I fit in the cab some what comfortably? Im 6'4" about 200 lbs.

Thanks in advance.

Also what things unique to the 521 should I watch out for when shopping for one? Kingpins correct?

I'm 5'11" and I run the seat all the way back. You will fit, its just a matter of comfortability for ya.

521s are at least 40 years old so ya kingpins and brakes will be issues. I should say lack of brakes  . The windshield has a tendancy to turn slightly blue over time. Mine sat for 8 years and it has a slight blue tint to it. Had to replace the steering wheel as well, it was sun rotted and about to break in half. Electrical should be looked over as well

I'm also in the same situation, just a little less meat on me. 6'2'' about 160lb soaking wet(haha) Will a standard cab be too cramped or should I look for a Kingcab model. I'm very interested in the late 60' early 70's 521's. Any info would be great. Thanks

For a king cab, you will need to find a 76 or newer 620 pickup. Or make your own 521 king cab. I've owned single cab and king cab, im sticking with king cabs. bout 5'11". I fit fine in the 521, but i like the seat a little further back, and being able to lean the seat back some. Can't do that in a single cab. Uncomfortable.

I'm 5'-11", and I've had 4 520/521's. I can tell you that even at my height the fit is not terribly comfortable for anything over a short drive. Add any seats that weren't factory, and the room get's even tighter. Honestly, if I was 6'-4" I'd be looking at a Z, they fit tall people great.

So...drove the 521 over 1000 miles this weekend. With the stock seat and a wink mirror, I had to be ducking/slouching to see anything more than 10 feet in front of the truck. The seat is just too high, and bouncy, so I'll be looking to find a better option that will get me lower in the cab.

A bench seat from the mid-70's to mid-80's Toyota pickups work great.

For the tall guys, they sit lower. For the guys installing a 31" trans, there is a cut-out over the tunnel on the seat.

My sister's 521 has one. Fits perfect.

Now when I went to go drive her truck, it was a little odd feeling. Just because my 521 has the OE seat. But it was comfortable.

If it sat taller, I'd rock one. I want the cut-out over the trans tunnel myself.
