pl521sss
Can someone tell me what is the thread size for both the Datsun 510 and 521 based on Russell's speed bleeder chart below. Thanks Speed Bleeder Reference Chart Part # Thread Overall Length 3934 8mm x 1.0 37mm 3951 7/16 - 20 1.25 Quote Link to comment
Cruzn620
i know for the 620 (with front discs) the part numbers you need are Front: SB1010 and Rear: SB7100 I think that the SB7100 fits all of the datsun drum stuff. i got the SB7100 from a tech rep at russell. here is the contact i went through.. For applications not listed call 888 879 7016 or e-mail your request at speedbleeder@earthlink.net Quote Link to comment
jovial_cynic
I believe the 510 is SB1010 all around. I just picked up a set and plan to install in the next day or so. Quote Link to comment
Cruzn620
please let me know how they worked for you. i still have no brakes on my datto and i think im going to buy a set to simplify the process...im thinking about buying enough to do all 4 wheels, the m/c's and the proportioning valves. saying im frustrated with my brakes is an understatement Quote Link to comment
pl521sss
please let me know how they worked for you. i still have no brakes on my datto and i think im going to buy a set to simplify the process...im thinking about buying enough to do all 4 wheels, the m/c's and the proportioning valves. saying im frustrated with my brakes is an understatement I know what you mean. I broke the brake line in the rear of the 521. And it happens to be 316 SAE and tried using metric, duh  I used a lot of profanity while working on it. Frustrated, nah :mad::mad::mad::mad: Part number you gave as well as Jovial is not on the reference chart I posted. Are we talking about the same vendor (Russell)? Quote Link to comment
Cruzn620
http://www.speedbleeder.com/ is where i got my numbers from. they have to be the same one, russell holds a patent on it. but they will get back to you real quick at speedbleeder.com, so i just went through them Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
If your thinkin about getting them....get them. They work awesome. Makes bleeding the brakes a one man 10 minute job ;) Quote Link to comment
Cruzn620
im thinking about buying enough to put one on all 4 wheels, both bleeder ports on the m/c and then the 3 for the proportioning valve...am i crazy? or you think i could just buy the 4 and totally clear out my system (the m/c has already been bench bled) Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
I wouldn't worry about the master until the next time you need to bleed the system. That is, if it's already been bench bled and has clear fluid in it. Quote Link to comment
Shonuff
the speed bleeders are un-believably awesome. i have em in 3 out of 5 cars. the only complaint i have is the teflon thread sealer gives a false torque feel so you have to keep a eye on the fluid after initial install, the valve feels tights but will spit out a lil bit of fluid, just have to get back down there and re-tighten. and if you for some reason have to remove it you need to put some plumbers tape on the threads for a good seal when cracked loose for bleeding. tho now after spending a pretty penny on em ive gone a cheaper route: i have 1 speed bleeder on the end of a lil rubber hose, i plug that hose on the stock valve and get the same benefit with out having to climb under again and retighten because of the teflon.
