r0p0doe
So my fuel system is dirty in my dime and I'll be going through it tomorrow to clean it. I already have an idea on how to go about cleaning my fuel line but not quite sure how to go about cleaning the fuel tank and fuel pumps. So I'm looking to you knowledgeable ratsuners on technics and products that are helpful in this cleaning process. Thanks Quote Link to comment
Jesse C.
Start by taking a look in the tech sections and not the General section. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/28800-flushing-gas-tank/ Or try the search function. Quote Link to comment

RAlly_DatoB210
I got one with green jelly for gas in the tank. I took off the hose clamps after siphoning as much ga as I could out. Then I pulled the tank really easy to do btw not a whole lot holding it in there. It sat upside down with some A random solution of acetone marvel mystery oil fresh gas and a splash of clr. I'm sure there was a better way than my method but it runs and drives just fine so who cares? After sloshing it around I poured it out and waited a few days after this then used a hand torch to heat up the bottom of the tank just to see if I could vaporize any leftovers. Not safe I know but it didn't so much as take. Not enough fumes at this point. Let off some toxic smells though. Then I hooked a Manual fuel pump up to the line and unplugged it at the filter and ran a coffee can full of gas or so through it then just pumped air through. I got new filters hooked it up and after sorting put the wiring adding new gas and pouring a little down the throat it fired. Wasn't pumping much fuel though diaphragm in the pump was shot so I got a new one. Now it runs and drives awsum. Might not be the correct way but freeballing worked well enough. Fuel filter still looks clean too so I assume tank cleaning worked Quote Link to comment
