Laecaon Posted February 7, 2011 Report Share Posted February 7, 2011 Friends '79 210 needs a new tranny. A14 engine. Would prefer a 5 speed, but doesnt really matter. It currently is a 4speed. What fits and what cars could we pull one from? Also if anyone has one laying around. The car is in Hillsboro but he makes weekly trips down to Corvallis. Link to comment
ggzilla Posted February 7, 2011 Report Share Posted February 7, 2011 It depends on which engine that 210 has. A12A can use a light-duty four-speed, while A14 & A15 require a heavy-duty transmission. For the A14/A15, any B210 (1974-1978) or B310 (1979-1982) 4-speed will fit. You can also fit a 1979-1982 5-speed, but make sure you get the clutch lever and gearbox mounts to fit. Or you could fit a 1976-1978 B-210 5-speed, but need to get the matching driveshaft and maybe mess with the wiring and gearbox mount. Link to comment
