slodat
I decided to pull the engine out of the car today to make all of the other work I am doing a lot easier (oil pan gasket, clutch, flywheel, etc). Well I didn't have anyone around to help pull the hood off. Since I'm not concerned with a little scratch in the paint, I pulled the hood and engine by myself. Pretty easy when not worried about a little scratch or two... Quote Link to comment

datsunaholic
I've never had any problem removing/installing the hood by myself. Except on my '71 F250. That took 3 people. I use some 1/2" thick 1" wide strips of plywood wrapped in a rag to "space" the rear of the hood if I'm worried about paint, and use the bolt marks to align it. For the engine I seldom have help. I HAD to have help on one, because the cab was mangled and there was no clearance so we had to force the transmission back out the tunnel. And that was with no core support even.
