merlin
Don't want to Jinx this too badly, but my request for a press pass to Nissan's DNA garage, engine museum, etc. seems to be in the works for the next 2 weeks ... hence I'll likely be in Tokyo for 10 days over Christmas and New Years "on assignment" for NissanSport magazine... Those that have been, pipe up with cool things to see, both car and noncar... places you've stayed, etc... Merlin Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Merlin, if you should run into this girl, would you slip her in your suitcase for me? I'm only missing this JDM seat cover to complete my set. Thanks man, you're the best. 3 Quote Link to comment
jun
Where are you staying? Are you going to have a rental car, or a driver to take you around? Daikoku Futo and Refresh 60 are the first 2 places that come to mind. JCCA New Year's meeting if you're there when it goes down. If you were there a bit longer into January, the Auto Salon goes on the 14-16th. Doesn't a member from here or 510realm live in Tokyo? I thought I saw a pic of him and his yellow 510 at Refresh 60. Maybe contact Benzo, I think he knows him. Have you ever been there before? If not, don't get too sucked into searching for old JDM wheels...plenty to see and do besides car stuff. Definitely do all the tourist stuff- Akihabara, Shibuya, Roppongi Hills, Harajuku, Tokyo Tower, etc etc. I am not sure if it is available for Canadian citizens (assuming you are based on your location) but a JR weekly rail pass is a great deal if you plan to ride the Shinkansen anywhere. And it makes for travel on the JR lines in Tokyo easy since you won't have to buy a ticket every time you want to ride the local JR trains. Some more details on what you have access to (in regards to transportation/where you'll stay/someone who will show you around) will be helpful. Oh. And if you like ramen noodles, try a spot called "Kyuushu Jyangara ramen". There's a location in Akihabara and Harajuku. A must do if you like ramen! Quote Link to comment
Rustina 510
That's pretty cool man, I wish I could do something like that. Quote Link to comment

jun
Merlin, when you have more information in regards to your stay, let me know. I've been invited to Zama but have never had enough free time to check it out. I'm going to make sure on my next trip, I carve out a day to take it in. Have fun!! Quote Link to comment
