KAman
OK i have a 73 620 L18 3 speed auto. with the orginal gauge cluster, i am a bit confused as to where the emtpy mark is, the gauge goes like this: E, then the middle marks that look like a sideways E, then the F. this may seem stupid but bear with me. the needle is pointing between the middle mark and the "E", and my mom thinks that is empty and i think that it is at a quarter tank, hince between the E and middle. Am i right? Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
E = Empty Middle = 1/2 F = Full You are correct about a 1/4 of a tank in the position you describe. But do not trust it until you actually run it out gas (with a full gas can) to determine where empty is for sure. How do you like the automatic? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The gauge would seem to be pointing at the 1/4 mark, yes. Weather there is 1/4 tank left, I don't know. Seems like my gauge would go over 50 miles before it even came off the full reading. The early 620 had a 12 us gal tank so next time it's solidly on 1/4 tank, fill it up and see how many gallons it takes. I would guess 8 or 9. This would support an assumption that there are about 4 gallons (1/4) in the tank to begin with. Quote Link to comment
