Timing question

Recommended Posts

Ive just recently 2 hours ago, assembled my engine, because I overhauled it, and I was doing it with the video that Hainz did.

The thing is: I have the cam sprocket set on #2 on the thrust plate, the first silver link of the chain on the #2 mark. The v nodge and the dash aligned.

Down below on the crank sprocket, the next silver link on the dot. The cylinder at its maximum height.

I have the timing pointer on the crank pulley at the far left nodge but the cam sprocket v nodge and dash is slightly to the right of the dash.

Something like this:

_

.v

If I put the middle crank pulley mark on the pointer, the cam sprocket v nodge and dash are perfectly aligned.

Please dismiss this thread, Ive missed 5 seconds of the Hainz video where he explains this. :D
