Nissan 240RS

Was doing a little research on these, anyone know how close they were to the 80's 200sx stateside? Supposedly only 200 were ever produced or something. I'd like to get my hands on one!

1979-1982 US Datsun 200SX is Datsun model series S110 (Silvia family)

240RS was also Datsun model series S110, but had 2.4 FJ24 engine. It was 1983-1985 and used for the World Rally. US had already moved on the S12 with CA20E.

body wise it just looks like an S110 200sx fastback

Some ppl sell the flare kits for them, but good luck finding an fj24.

I have the worst idea right now. There's one for sale locally. Just a 200sx, but I'm pretty sure I could make a 240RS quite easily.

 

There's a restored real 240RS for sale in NZ. Only 50,000 Euros. ;)

Just a 200sx, but I'm pretty sure I could make a 240RS quite easily.

but with all due respect hrh, you may be able to build a replica but it wouldn't be easy

 

this is a nissan motorsports designed race/rally car, not a backyard build

let's not get into all the custom body panels and suspension, but the engine:

 

probably thinking custom crank and pistons? (doable but not cheap & easy)

but the cylinder head is unique (not just a worked fj20 head)

then there's the special mikuni 50mm carbies on motorsports intake

I own a Nissan 240RS. I am going to make all the fiberglass parts for this car. If any one wants a set of parts let me know.

Don't forget all the Plexiglas windows with the Nissan seal on them and the reinforcements built into the body, very unique car.
