Josh K.
i thought I had seen front patches too... Maybe not... ^_^ Not that I know of. Seems easier to replace the front fender then cut and weld in the flare. Rear you have no choice. I got both fenders for $165 shipped cause ECS had a computer glitch.. 1 Quote Link to comment

Josh K.
Are the rear Mk1 rabbit flares smaller than the front ones (if you know)? I believe the rear has more flare towards the bottom then the front. You'd have to search some google images as I don't have any rears. I use only the fronts. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
I use only the fronts. So all 4 are fronts? We did ours that way too. Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
So all 4 are fronts? We did ours that way too. Yes. Rear is MK1 Fronts flipped to opposite sides (MK1 Front Driver side is on 510 Passenger Quarter , MK1 Passenger on 510 Driver Side Quarter . Front is MK2 on standard sides. Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Five hours of hard labor to strip all the layers off the trunk lid from my old purple 510. It's has some rust holes and not the best panel.. but I gotta save it. Got some gap issues also I'll fix up. When it's done it will be spot on :ninja: 2 Quote Link to comment
q-tip
I'm telling you, with the quality metal work in this thing just clear it and show off that Fab work. 1 Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
I'm telling you, with the quality metal work in this thing just clear it and show off that Fab work. The fab work needs covered... I'm just a hack :geek: Starting work on the driver side. It looks like a good start. The front fender is gonna take some hammer work and it's got a little bow along the back edge that will require cutting slits in the inner support in order to push in. No biggie. One step at a time. Just keep telling myself if I don't stop eventually I'll run out of stuff to do and it will be done.. 5 Quote Link to comment

jeffball610
This is the exact "flare" I plan to do on my car. It looks like the tires say 225/45/15. Is that right? What's the wheel offset and what kind of inner clearance do you have? (I'm sure it's stated somewhere in this thread) I'm already tired of my tiny 205 width tires, but I've got a lot to do before I can step up to a 225. Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Thanks guys! Correct on the tires. Wheels are 15x8 0 Offset. Front struts are 280zx with Ermish stage 2 coilovers. Clearance is tight. Wheels rubbed the tie rod end because I'm running a mammoth bump steer spacer. 1.25" I believe? I have a 0.125" wheel spacer to eliminate the tie rod interference. 1 Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Here's a blow by blow of fitting the flares. I'll post the rest of the pics when I finish tonight. 2 Quote Link to comment
tr8er
If you were so inclined, this would make a very beneficial how-to flares thread. Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
If you were so inclined, this would make a very beneficial how-to flares thread. I could do that. A video would be better as most people wouldn't be comfortable re-hammering the flare lines. You just gotta start somewhere though  Finished tacking up the passenger side. This side didn't turn out as nice as the driver side... Maybe this had something to do with it? I gotta slit and re-hammer the flare line where the red marker is. The flare kinda kicks in. It's hard to get the line right here cause the original shape is really odd. 2 Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
My goal was get the front flares welded on this weekend. Goal accomplished. Just need to do some finish hammer work/shrinking and the fenders are done. I want to get this thing in epoxy sealer this month.. Maybe I'll make it to Canby this year...  3 Quote Link to comment
